Arrest in Ceuta following fatal stabbing in Poblado de Regulares
The National Police arrested a Spanish woman on Thursday morning as the alleged perpetrator of the death of a Moroccan immigrant who was staying in her home in an irregular situation, as confirmed by La Vanguardia citing police sources.
The incident took place around 07:00 hours in the Poblado de Regulares area, on the outskirts of Ceuta's urban centre. The detained woman allegedly used a knife against the victim, whom several neighbours identified as her cousin. Those same witnesses reported having heard screams suggesting an argument preceding the attack.
By midday, officers had not yet located the weapon used. The Police are investigating both the motives that led the woman to allegedly commit the homicide and the circumstances in which the victim was residing inside the home.
The authorities have not clarified at the moment whether the deceased was part of the massive influx of immigrants who crossed from Morocco on 30 and 31 July.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of the Interior reported that the Police have expelled 214 immigrants for committing crimes since that massive crossing. Three of them had records for crimes related to jihadist terrorism.
