The National Police released a 28-year-old woman in Getafe (Madrid) who had been held for three days inside a lorry by her ex-partner, a 33-year-old man who had a restraining order in force against her, according to deia.eus.
The incident began on 11 September in Motril (Granada), where the man allegedly forcibly removed the young woman from her home and transported her by car to Getafe. Upon arrival, he placed her inside a lorry, where she remained held until 14 September.
During this period, the Cometa Centre—responsible for electronic monitoring of restraining measures in cases of gender violence—registered an alert. The warning allowed officers to contact the young woman and learn what was happening.
Police efforts led them to the man and the vehicle. Initially, the suspect denied to officers having had any altercation with his ex-partner. Following police insistence, he eventually admitted that the woman was inside the lorry.
Officers then released the young woman and proceeded to arrest the man on suspicion of illegal detention and breach of the restraining order. The action ended three days of detention, from when the victim was taken from her home in Motril until her location and release in Getafe.
