The man is suspected of leading a criminal group that smuggled drugs into Germany in large quantities. According to information provided by police, the group had a warehouse in Spain from which lorries transported drugs through France to Germany.
The official identity has not been disclosed, but Spanish media report that the detainee is 38 years old and from Pakistan. The investigation began in 2025, when police received information that the suspect could be staying in Spain, where he had previously lived.
The man took special precautionary measures to avoid arrest — changing his phone number every two weeks, and changing his identity approximately every three months. He also attended cybersecurity courses in Turkey, where he learned methods to make it difficult to track his whereabouts.
Investigators first tracked down the suspect's brother. After several days of surveillance in various Spanish provinces, the wanted man was spotted in his brother's car and arrested in Málaga.
