Nine arrested in a week following intensified police checks in Lorca
Lorca Local Police arrested nine people during the last week as a result of surveillance operations deployed at different points in the municipality, according to lorca.es. In the total of 75 police checks carried out, officers identified 679 people and 226 vehicles.
Three of the arrests were made for suspected involvement in armed robbery, resulting from specific operations aimed at preventing this type of crime in areas and time slots of greater police interest. Two further arrests were recorded for injuries following a brawl on avenida Fuerzas Armadas.
The four remaining arrests corresponded to one person for threats, another for a crime related to gender-based violence, and one more for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Of the 75 checks carried out, 26 were specifically developed in the hamlets of the municipality and 12 were aimed at controlling personal mobility vehicles (VMP). The activity extended to both the urban centre and the different hamlets of the municipality.
As a result of the operations, 9 proceedings were initiated for breaching Organic Law 4/2015 on the Protection of Public Safety, all of them related to the consumption or unlawful possession of narcotics. In addition, 14 proceedings were sent to the General Directorate of Traffic.
In terms of coexistence, officers carried out 32 interventions related to the Municipal Ordinance on the Protection of Citizen Coexistence and three with the Municipal Ordinance on Street Cleaning. In road safety, 105 proceedings were issued for breaches of traffic and circulation regulations, and action was taken in 15 traffic accidents.
Lorca Local Police will continue to develop surveillance and prevention checks at different points in the municipality, reinforcing its presence in areas and time slots that require greater police attention, as well as in the hamlets.
