Nine arrested in one week of intensive checks by Lorca Local Police

Lorca Local Police arrested nine people for various criminal offences during the past week, according to cadenaser.com. The operation, deployed in both the urban centre and outlying districts of the municipality, included 75 checks in total, of which 26 were carried out in rural areas and 12 were aimed at personal mobility vehicles.

Three of those arrested were involved in violent robberies, located thanks to specific operations during particular time slots and areas of special police interest. Two others were arrested for injuries following a fight on Fuerzas Armadas avenue, whilst the remaining four arrests were for the offences of threats, gender-based violence and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Over the course of the week, officers identified 679 people and 226 vehicles. In terms of coexistence and safety, nine files were processed for drug consumption or unlawful possession and 32 for breaches of the Municipal Ordinance for the Protection of Citizen Coexistence. Three files were also recorded relating to street cleanliness.

In the area of traffic, Local Police issued 105 fines and intervened in 15 accidents. The force indicated that it would maintain these surveillance operations at various points in Lorca, with priority attention to areas and times requiring greater police presence and to the outlying districts, with the aim of reinforcing citizen safety and road safety.
