Arrest for Drug Trafficking at the Bus Station
According to alicante.es, the Alicante Local Police arrested a 28-year-old man last Sunday at the Bus Station for possession and trafficking in drugs. The dog Kata, specialised in detecting narcotics, located a suitcase containing 678 grams of cocaine in the hold of a bus on the Algeciras-Barcelona route parked at platform 8.
Officers were patrolling Avenida de Loring when they inspected the vehicle and introduced Kata, who quickly indicated a blue suitcase. Inside, concealed among clothing, they found two packages of white powder corresponding to cocaine, along with two mobile phone card holders and instructions for a digital watch.
The detainee was carrying a watch of the model and make matching the instructions found, as well as two mobile phones whose cards belonged to the same company as the holders found in the suitcase. The man acknowledged at that moment that he wished to recover the clothing from the suitcase after regaining his freedom.
The arrested man was wanted following an order issued by a court in Almería in 2020 for a previous offence of drug trafficking, and was remanded in custody in accordance with that ruling.
