Police arrest man with two shotguns after fleeing in Madrid
The National Police arrested a 24-year-old youth on the M-40 after pursuing him from Villa de Vallecas. He was carrying two loaded shotguns, ammunition and a knife in the vehicle.

According to elconfidencial.com, agents of the National Police arrested a 24-year-old man accused of unlawful possession of weapons, resisting arrest and offences against road safety. The pursuit began at around 2:30 on Tuesday in the Villa de Vallecas district when a police unit observed a car travelling at high speed in the vicinity of the Sierra Guadalupe roundabout.
The officers ordered the driver to stop using light and acoustic signals, but the vehicle continued. The pursuit ended at exit 19B of the M-40 heading south, when the car came to a halt on the hard shoulder after running out of fuel.
At the moment of arrest, officers found inside two loaded shotguns ready to be fired, eight cartridges, a further 50 semi-armoured rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, a knife approximately 22 centimetres long and several batons within reach of the driver. Sources from the National Police informed Europa Press of the discovery.
The driver showed signs of intoxication and had bloodstains on his shirt. He lacked a valid driving licence. The young man stated that he had recently taken part in a fight with two men in the Santa Eugenia neighbourhood. The National Police placed the suspect at the disposal of the judicial authority.
