Dismantling of trafficking network in Plasencia

According to larazon.es, the National Police have seized 3.3 kilos of cocaine in an operation against drugs trafficking in Plasencia. A 36-year-old man has been arrested as the alleged leader of the network along with his brother, whose whereabouts are unknown. The investigation began after information was received about a drugs distribution operation in the town.

Officers from the Judicial Police unit at Plasencia Police Station located the suspects' activity at a property on the Trujillo road. During surveillance carried out between 10 and 11 October, they witnessed a meeting between the two brothers followed by a delivery of packages.

When attempting to intercept one of the drivers at the entrance to the plot, the suspect ignored a police stop signal and fled at high speed. During his escape he threw a package out of the window; officers recovered it immediately. The package contained several wrappings with drug substance totalling three kilos and three hundred grams.

Given the risk posed by reckless driving to road safety, officers suspended the pursuit with the individual identified. The second brother was arrested the following day at his home; he had previous convictions for similar offences. Having appeared before the judicial authority, he was released on charges.

The operation included the confiscation of two high-end vehicles. The proceedings remain open and the search for the fugitive brother remains active.
