The Government Delegation against Gender-Based Violence announced this Sunday, through its account on X, that it is gathering information on the death of a woman that occurred in Madrid province, according to elperiodico.com.
Police sources confirmed to EFE that the investigation centres on the death that occurred during Thursday night in San Sebastián de los Reyes.
If the gender-based nature of the crime is confirmed, the number of women murdered by gender-based violence would rise to 37 so far in 2026, and to 1,377 since 2003, the year when this type of crime began to be officially recorded.
