Police sources confirmed to EFE that the investigation centres on the death that occurred during Thursday night in San Sebastián de los Reyes.
If the gender-based nature of the crime is confirmed, the number of women murdered by gender-based violence would rise to 37 so far in 2026, and to 1,377 since 2003, the year when this type of crime began to be officially recorded.
