Operation in Mahó detects drug distribution network
According to El Confidencial, the National Police arrested three men last weekend after discovering a significant quantity of narcotics in their vehicle. The operation took place at a police checkpoint deployed at the intersection of Colarsega Street with the Fornells road in Mahó, carried out by officers from the Operational Response Group (GOR).
Agents stopped the car carrying the three suspects. During an interior search, they located two hidden compartments with mechanical opening mechanisms: one concealed behind the radio and another next to the steering wheel. Inside they found substances divided into individual doses, indicating distribution activity.
The seized material includes approximately 60 grammes of MDMA in tablets, 40 doses of tusi, around 15 grammes of cocaine and cannabis. Officers also seized €2,200 in cash, a precision scale, an electric grinder, a sieve, flavourings and chemical products used in the manufacture of narcotics.
The detainees, of Peruvian, Colombian and Spanish nationality respectively, were arrested on suspicion of an offence against public health. The Superior Police Headquarters of the Balearic Islands confirmed details of the intervention carried out by the GOR.
