This week the trial of a visitor from the United Kingdom is being held at the Provincial Court of Palma, whom the Public Prosecutor accuses of sexually assaulting a young woman in a hotel establishment in Magaluf. For the representative of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the seriousness of the facts justifies a sentence of seven years imprisonment and payment of €6,000 as compensation for moral damages.

The assault is said to have taken place on the night of 15 July 2022. According to the prosecution account, the defendant struck up a conversation with the future victim during a celebration by a pool and persuaded her to go up with him to the room he occupied. There, after the woman consumed large quantities of cocaine and vodka, she collapsed and lost consciousness.

The defendant is said to have taken advantage of the situation to commit a first assault in the bathroom, then move her to the mattress and repeat the attack whilst she remained unconscious. It was officers from the Guardia Civil in the municipality of Calvià who proceeded to his arrest, according to Majorca Daily Bulletin (https://www.majorcadailybulletin.com/news/local/2026/10/20/146703/british-tourist-trial-for-rape-mallorca.html).
