Päijät-Häme District Court ordered the remand into custody on Thursday of a 22-year-old man from Asikkala, whom police suspect of attempted murder in Lahti. The crime took place on 18 June, on Midsummer's Eve.
According to police, the victim, another man, was found seriously injured in the stairwell of his residential building. His injuries suggest a violent crime.
According to YLE, police consider the act to have been directed at a single individual. The incident posed no danger to outsiders.
The suspect is a man from Asikkala. He was taken into custody on probable cause of suspicion of attempted murder.
