Comanches MC expands into Finland – KRP warns of tensions in criminal underworld

Danish outlaw motorcycle gang Comanches MC targets Finland

A new international motorcycle gang is expanding into Finland, Yle Uutiset reported. According to a post on an Instagram account operating in the name of Comanches MC, the gang's Finnish chapter would begin operations in November.

The Central Criminal Police (KRP) confirmed to Yle that it is aware of the outlaw motorcycle gang's potential launch in Finland. The KRP did not, however, comment on who is behind the Finnish chapter or how extensive the activities here are estimated to be.

Comanches MC was founded in Denmark in 2023 on the ruins of the Satudarah criminal gang. At the time of its founding, it included approximately 250–300 members according to Aftonbladet, making it Denmark's largest motorcycle gang at that time. The gang has since expanded into Sweden and attempted to establish itself in Norway.

In Sweden, the club's activities have remained modest in scale. According to a report published by research institute Acta Publica last spring, the Swedish chapter is engaged in internal power struggles and competes with larger gangs – in 2024 it had around twenty members. In Norway, authorities have intervened in the gang's expansion efforts: according to Acta Publica, ten individuals linked to Comanches have been charged with participating in a criminal organisation.

In Denmark, the gang's activities have been associated with drug-business-related violent conflict with a street gang.

The gang uses what is known as a 1 per cent patch in its insignia, by which international criminal motorcycle clubs indicate that they do not abide by society's rules and laws.

The KRP warns that the arrival of new criminal actors on Finland's criminal scene may cause tensions and competition over criminal markets.

"There is always the possibility of various kinds of conflicts between criminal actors, particularly in the case of organised criminal groups," the KRP commented via its communications.

Comanches is the second international outlaw motorcycle gang to expand into Finland this year. In March, Yle reported that the Canadian-origin Satan's Choice motorcycle club had established a chapter in Finland.

Finland has previously had several organisations classified as one-percenter gangs dissolved by court orders, including Cannonball and United Brotherhood. A dissolution case against Bandidos is currently pending in court.
