An art and secondhand goods dealer who operated in the Hämeenlinna region has been convicted of serious tax fraud and sentenced to conditional imprisonment.
The defendant had withheld over 40,000 euros in value-added tax that he had not remitted to the tax authorities. The Tax Administration was the claimant in the case.
The convicted person reached an agreement on his admission of guilt and sentence before the actual court proceedings. He accepted the charge and the penalty sought for it, and the matter was therefore resolved by settlement.
The case relates to commercial activity conducted in the Hämeenlinna region in which art and secondhand goods were traded.
