West Uusimaa police are investigating three beauty treatment companies in which unlicensed pharmaceutical substances are suspected to have been used in injection treatments.

Three beauty treatment companies in the Helsinki region have become the subject of a police investigation. Authorities suspect that injection treatments with unlicensed preparations have been administered to customers at the establishments.
According to the investigation, the same individuals have run the said companies. The timeframe likely extends over several previous years. Authorities have withheld the names of the companies.
– So far we have no information of serious health damage to customers, but we are investigating whether this constitutes a crime, says detective superintendent Sari Knaapi.
Police will continue investigating the matter and are asking any potential customers or other persons with information to contact them.
