A child died and another minor was injured in an accident that occurred last autumn. Authorities have completed their investigation.

A serious accident that occurred in October of last year at a residential property has now been investigated by police. In the incident that took place in Mäntsälä, a six-year-old boy died. His playmate, aged five, was injured.
The accident happened when the pair were playing outside at the five-year-old's home. Building boards that had been stored in a sheet cabinet on the property collapsed on top of the children.
East Uusimaa police have completed their investigation. Crime Commissioner Freddie Cederlund reports that responsibility has been clarified. One person is suspected of three offences: causing death through negligence, causing injury through negligence, and abandonment.
The matter has moved from the authorities to the prosecutor's desk. After that, it will be determined whether the case proceeds to court.
