On Saturday afternoon, a brawl broke out in Lahti town centre at Paasikivi Square between supporters of two football clubs. Police arrested 48 people from the scene.
According to Elina Katajamäki, a commissioner at Häme Police Department, no serious injuries have been reported, although not all those who were struck may have contacted authorities.
The investigation concerns several assaults, illegal masking, and possession of torches. Most of those arrested are from Finland, but there were also individuals from Liechtenstein, Poland, Italy and Austria. No one has been detained.
