A 46-year-old man has been remanded in custody on suspicion of committing violence against family members in Lahti early on Saturday morning.

Häme police detained a middle-aged man from Launea in Lahti on Saturday morning. He is suspected of assaulting two relatives.
The incident began when the emergency centre received a report in the early morning at around half past four on 27 June. Officers arrived quickly at the address and detained the 46-year-old father of the family.
The man managed to injure the family mother with a knife. In connection with this, he also used physical violence against his underage child.
The investigation is proceeding on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and assault. Häme police continue to investigate the matter.
