Man retrieved sword and struck door in Pori – police did not help him return to the bar
Pälkäne District Court has convicted an Afghan man in connection with events in Pori in June of last year. The man came up with the idea of approaching a weapon at the door after authorities had left him to his own devices.
During the evening, a security guard had removed the man from a restaurant several times. The man stopped a patrol car three times and asked police officers to help him get back inside. However, the authorities refused to intervene in the matter.
After this, the man left with his companions to a park across the way. There he began to cry and left his friend to continue the evening without him. Instead, he retrieved a bladed weapon from his accommodation, which had a total length of 90 centimetres.
The man told the court that he had retrieved the sword and struck the door with it to attract police attention. However, the court did not accept the explanation, as the evidence indicated otherwise.
