The Eastern Finland Police investigates a shooting incident that took place in Peitsari, Mikkeli, on Saturday evening at approximately 22:00 as an attempted murder. The victim, who was seriously wounded in the incident, is in a stable condition. Iltalehti
Police have not disclosed the ages or sexes of those involved, the motive for the act, or the type of weapon used. Authorities made several arrests and conducted interrogations. One person is suspected of the offence, and police intends to seek a remand in custody order for him.
The police operation continued late into the night and into Sunday. A witness at the scene told Iltalehti that he saw several uniformed police officers with service weapons in hand and wearing body armour.
