Police are investigating an attempted murder case in which a woman, approximately 40 years old, pushed a man, approximately 70 years old, onto tram tracks in Tampere on Friday evening.

On Friday evening in Tampere, a man approximately 70 years old was pushed onto tram tracks by a woman approximately 40 years old. The incident was reported by Iltalehti.
According to crime commissioner Jani Ortamala during office hours, police arrested the suspect quickly. She is suspected of attempted murder.
The emergency services received information about the situation just after nine o'clock in the evening. Initially, it was reported that the tram had run over a person. In reality, however, the tram managed to stop before making contact.
– The man who fell onto the tracks probably sustained only minor bruises from the fall. The tram itself did not cause injuries because it managed to brake in time, Ortamala explains.
The man was examined at a hospital following the incident. During the weekend, police are investigating whether the parties knew each other and how the altercation escalated.
