The emergency services received a report of the building fire shortly after 8 p.m. The caller reported that there was a considerable amount of smoke visible in the stairwell.
A flat on the first floor of the three-storey building suffered significant damage. The resident who was in the flat was taken to hospital for further treatment.
According to preliminary investigations, the fire originated in that flat. The fire service brought the situation under control quickly, and the fire did not spread to other parts of the building.
The other residents of the building, approximately ten people, were temporarily relocated, but they were able to return to their flats the same evening.
