A man on a bicycle stabbed a victim of foreign background in Oulu's Kaukavainio on 26 June in the evening. The crime occurred near the junction of Joutsentie and Kainuuntie at around 20:00. Authorities are investigating the act as an attempted murder.
The wanted person is a man in his twenties or approaching his thirties. He has been moving around by bicycle and protecting his left leg when walking. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a collared shirt and a baseball cap. According to police description, the vehicle was an old-style women's bicycle.
This assault was already the fourth similar incident in three months. In all cases, the attacker moving by bicycle has used a sharp weapon against a person of foreign background in the Oulu area.
Authorities have received numerous tips from the public, but the perpetrator remains at large. "Every bit of information, no matter how small, can help solve this," police emphasise.
