A neighbourhood shop located in the Koivistonpuistiko area in Pori became the target of a fire on the morning of Christmas Day. The fire caused the shop hundreds of thousands of euros in damage. The building suffered significant destruction.
South-Western Finland Police has concluded the preliminary investigation into the matter. Based on the authorities' investigation, an approximately 20-year-old man set the fire. The man is suspected of aggravated property destruction.
At the time of the offence, the suspect was intoxicated. However, during questioning, he did not admit to setting the fire.
After burning down the shop, the young man is also suspected of breaking the window of a car parked nearby. For this act, he is suspected of causing damage.
The necessary investigations for prosecutors' assessment have been carried out in this case.
