Two separate police operations occurred overnight in northern Finland. In Haapavesi, authorities received a report of a possible brawl area shortly after midnight. A patrol sent to the scene found a suspect matching the descriptions provided.

The man's behaviour was confused, and the authorities decided to take him into custody. However, this did not proceed peacefully. The suspect strongly resisted arrest both verbally and physically. As the situation escalated, he struck one constable in the head with a kick. As a result of the incident, he is suspected of violence against a public official.

In a separate incident in Kajaani, a patrol measured a private car travelling significantly faster than permitted. The speed reading showed 152 km/h, despite a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour being in effect on the road. The driver was issued an immediate driving ban.
