A cyclist in Oulu has used violence against pedestrians at least eight times within about a year. In four cases, the attacker used a blade weapon. All victims have been of foreign descent.

A person travelling by bicycle has attacked pedestrians in Oulu at least eight times within the space of about a year. In four of these attacks, the perpetrator used a blade weapon, which is why the violence has been serious.
All victims who have suffered from the incidents have been persons of foreign descent. The injuries sustained by them have, however, remained relatively minor.
The first known attack occurred a year ago in May in Kaukovainio. The most recent incident happened this past weekend.
Police are urging pedestrians who have become victims to call the emergency number 112 immediately if they become the target of a similar attack.
