Oulu District Court has sentenced a man to imprisonment who drove whilst intoxicated and in breach of a driving ban in Nivala and collided with a dog walker.

Oulu District Court has imposed a custodial sentence on a man who drove whilst clearly intoxicated and in breach of a driving ban in Nivala last year. He was convicted of six offences in total.
The incident occurred in March 2025. The man drove a motor car despite being subject to a valid driving ban and having consumed alcohol. During the drive, he collided with a dog walker and fled the scene.
The court found the man guilty of drink-driving, driving without authorisation, leaving the scene of an accident, and other offences. The sentence also took into account his previous criminal convictions.
