According to Alibi.fi, Rovaniemi police had to respond to several violent situations from Saturday evening to Sunday morning.

The incidents started on Saturday afternoon when a passenger on a coach arriving in Rovaniemi behaved aggressively. After leaving the bus, he moved to a nearby shop, where he threw goods around, spat at a shop assistant and threw a full drink can at her. He also damaged a bystander's vehicle. A man found nearby strongly resisted arrest, forcing police to use force. The man is also suspected of threatening to kill police officers. He is suspected of assault, damage to property and violent resistance to an official.

After midnight, police received an alert to a central restaurant, where a man is suspected of punching another customer with his fist and resisting a security guard.

At the same time, police were informed of a private apartment where two people belonging to the same family are suspected of assaulting each other.

In the early morning hours, police arrested two men for fighting each other in the central area. Both are suspected of assault.

During the weekend, police also intervened in repeated loitering in Rovaniemi's central car park. On two evenings between 7 pm and midnight, nearly 400 vehicles were ordered to leave the car park along with their drivers.
