A German woman reported missing in the village of Saija in Salla at the end of June continues to be sought under the direction of the Lapland police. The approximately 50-year-old person has been unreachable since her car was discovered in water on Monday, 29 June. The driver was not found in the vehicle.

The most recent confirmed sighting of the woman is a photograph taken by a game camera in the Teinniöjoki area near Saija. According to authorities' description, she has shoulder-length, dark brown hair.

Police were notified of the incident involving a vehicle entering a water body on the last Monday of June. The vehicle was being driven by a German tourist, whose current whereabouts are unclear.

Assistance has been requested for the search from, amongst others, the Finnish Border Guard. Members of the public are encouraged to report any possible sightings to the police tip line.
