Häme Police had two separate incidents over the weekend involving violent behaviour intervention.
On the night between Saturday and Sunday at 2.30 a.m., a police patrol was dispatched to Ruoriniemenkatu in Lahti. At the scene, the taxi driver reported being targeted in an attack by a passenger. The driver had picked up a male passenger from Kauppakatu and driven him to Ruoriniemenkatu. Upon arrival, the passenger began insulting the driver and struck him several times in the upper body. The man then left the vehicle without paying the fare.
The perpetrator was not apprehended during the night. Police are continuing the investigation into the case.
In another incident in Hämeenlinna, an intoxicated man attempted to jump from a moving police car. Authorities brought the situation under control.
