Central Finland Police is investigating a case in which a person was struck by a tram in the city centre on Friday. A suspect has been arrested.

Central Finland Police launched an investigation into a serious violent crime in Tampere last Friday. At around nine in the evening, the emergency centre received a report that a tram had struck a pedestrian in the Hämeenkatu area.
According to witnesses who saw the incident, it was not an accident, but the victim had been pushed onto the tracks. Police apprehended the suspect shortly after the act. He is suspected of attempting to kill another person.
