Apartment block stairwell fire in Viitasaari investigated as aggravated arson
A stairwell fire that broke out in an apartment block in Viitasaari in central Finland is being investigated as aggravated arson. Police are requesting information about a light-coloured estate car and the men who were seen getting out of it.

The stairwell of a two-storey apartment building caught fire on Friday evening in Viitasaari at Haapaniementie 15. The Central Finland Police is investigating the incident as aggravated arson.
The emergency centre received notification of the fire before 8 p.m. There were almost twenty people in the building at the time. No injuries were reported, but smoke damaged apartments and the stairwell suffered severe damage.
Authorities are seeking eyewitness information about a light-coloured Volvo V70 estate car that was at the scene. The car had several people in it, and two men of approximately 180 centimetres in height got out near it. One had long hair and was wearing a light-coloured shirt. The other was dressed in a dark suit with light-coloured patterns.
