One man remanded in custody over Ylöjärvi Pimeesalmi stabbing – two others released

One man is to be remanded in custody over a violent incident that occurred in Pimeesalmi, Ylöjärvi, during the weekend. Two other suspects have been released.

The Police of Central Finland are continuing their investigation into the assault that took place between Saturday and Sunday, 4–5 July. Three adult men were initially suspected, but charges against two of them have been downgraded. They were released following questioning.

Investigating officer Detective Superintendent Heikki Järnström says one person is to be remanded in custody on Wednesday. The man was born in the 2000s and is an adult. He has admitted to the act.

A sharp weapon was used in the incident, which is now in police custody. The preliminary investigation is continuing with further witness questioning, among other measures.

A second violent incident also occurred in Pimeesalmi between Friday and Saturday night, for which the police are seeking information from the public.
