Five individuals have been remanded in custody following the seizure of 185 kg of cannabis resin at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and the arrest of a suspect in Rennes, in connection with trafficking between Brittany and Martinique.

On 2 May, customs officers intercepted four travellers at Roissy airport whose luggage contained 185 kilogrammes of cannabis resin. The men were about to board a flight to Martinique. At the same time, a 29-year-old from Guadeloupe was apprehended in Rennes, identified as the alleged organiser of this trafficking network.
According to initial investigation findings, the four people arrested at Charles de Gaulle played the role of couriers. They were transporting cannabis resin from Brittany to the Caribbean, where this drug reaches prices significantly higher than those in mainland France.
The public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation entrusted to the OFAST, the service specialising in the repression of drug trafficking. Investigations are continuing to uncover any potential accomplices, establish the hierarchy within the network, and confirm the status of the Rennes suspect as the mastermind of the operation. All five accused have been remanded in custody.
