Forensic doctors, however, believed that the compression had lasted several minutes, contradicting the version that the act would have been brief.
Psychiatric experts mentioned a state of "derealisation" and "psychic dissociation" in the defendant. The public prosecutor argued against these conclusions, highlighting the methodical preparation of the acts following death: the purchase of an angle grinder on 31 January from a DIY shop in south-east Paris, the journeys made between Montreuil and Buttes-Chaumont park, as well as the messages sent to the victim after her disappearance.
