The body of a 16-year-old adolescent bearing traces of gunshot wounds was discovered on Thursday 8 October in the early afternoon at Saint-Louis-de-Montferrand, on the banks of the Garonne, according to sudouest.fr. Gendarmes were alerted to the presence of an injured young person around 2 p.m., near the Jourdane slipway, about twenty kilometres from Bordeaux.
The officers ascertained the death on site. "At this stage, the murder hypothesis is being pursued," said the prosecutor of the Republic of Bordeaux, Renaud Gaudeul. The victim was originally from the municipality, according to mayor Bruno Naulevade.
An investigation was immediately opened and entrusted to the Bordeaux-Bouliac search section by the public prosecutor's office. Gendarmes carried out observations, sampling and searches for evidence for much of the day. By early Thursday evening, no arrests had been made.
