Civil parties have since denounced the "slowness" of French justice and have taken legal action against the State for "gross negligence". These legal steps highlight the shortcomings that authorities are accused of in handling the case on French soil.
France occupied a genuine place in Epstein's network. Jean-Luc Brunel, a French national and a prominent figure in the Paris modelling agencies in the 1980s, constituted one of the main points of connection between the French fashion world and the American criminal.
