The previous defenders of Cédric Jubillar have spoken out following media revelations from the man himself. He was found guilty of the disappearance of his wife Delphine, which occurred in 2020, and has recently opened up to journalists.
Maîtres Alexandre Martin and Emmanuelle Franck, who accompanied him until the end of last year, regard these comments as "confessions". They say they are surprised that Jubillar chose to go to the press. For half a decade, he had maintained to them that he had nothing to do with the matter.
Jubillar's new legal representatives, Maîtres Guy and Pierre Debuisson, claim that their client suffered deterioration due to repeated treatment, including antipsychotic medications. The former counsel reject this interpretation. They assert they were never informed of such medication use. According to their account, no "vegetative" state was observed. Exchanges with him were, in their view, coherent and ordinary.
They believe his physical condition likely declined sharply after December 2025, the period when he changed his defence team. They specify that they would in no way have allowed their client to appear before the court in such a precarious state.
Cédric Jubillar received a twenty-year prison sentence in 2025 for the murder of Delphine Jubillar, whose remains have never been located.
