Parc Astérix: man implicated in Samuel Paty's murder detained for breaching house arrest

According to Google News LU FR, a Chechen national implicated in the assassination of teacher Samuel Paty in 2020 was apprehended at Parc Astérix, in violation of his house arrest.

The man, already convicted in connection with the Paty case, had left his home without authorisation to visit the amusement park. His presence there led to his arrest and a new court appearance.

The courts handed down an additional conviction for breach of house arrest obligations. Following this procedure, the individual was remanded in custody, according to several French media outlets including Le Figaro, Le Télégramme and TF1 Info.

Samuel Paty, a history and geography teacher, was beheaded in October 2020 in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine by a radicalised young man after showing caricatures to his class as part of a lesson on freedom of expression. Several people had been convicted for their role in spreading information that led to the attack.
