According to lanouvellerepublique.fr, two brothers were committed for trial following a knife attack that occurred on 19 June 2025 on Rue Lamartine in Tours. The elder, A., an adult, is being held in custody. His younger brother, I., a minor, was placed under judicial supervision after three weeks spent in a specialist detention facility for minors near Nantes.
Both are being prosecuted for "attempted murder", "violence" and aggravated "theft".
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in a studio rented on the ground floor at number 11 Rue Lamartine, booked for three days via an online platform. Two young women were present at the time of the altercation. The main victim, aged 23, received several blows from a Swiss army knife blade. Injured on the arm and left flank, she took refuge in a state of shock in the neighbouring bar, "Le 25 avril", where the owner and customers helped her.
The second woman in the studio, who was engaged in prostitution, was superficially wounded. According to information gathered at the scene, the altercation broke out after a client refused to pay for services. The prostitute's friend, apparently uninvolved in the commercial transaction, was coming out of the shower when she was attacked by surprise.
A. had been described in detail by one of the victims, which enabled his identification. The two suspects were arrested several days after the incident.
The investigation is under the direction of investigating judge Zawadski and remains ongoing.
