Amaury Leveaux summoned to court
According to TF1 Info, Amaury Leveaux, a former Olympic swimming champion, will appear on 10 March before the Paris magistrates' court on suspicions of domestic violence. The athlete appeared on Friday 2 October before a prosecutor following a period of custody, reveals magazine Paris Match.
The gold medallist in the 4×100 metres freestyle relay in 2012 contests the accusations. His solicitor, Bernard Benaiem, stated that Leveaux "acknowledges an argument, exchanges of words, but no violence, either towards his partner or towards their five-month-old baby". The alleged incident occurred during a dispute on Monday in the late afternoon in the presence of the infant.
Paris Match reports that Leveaux is suspected of having threatened his partner with a knife and of having shaken his child. His counsel refutes these imputations, stating that the former athlete is "shocked by the accusations made against him, in particular the alleged harmful actions towards the baby".
Leveaux, who also won a silver medal in the 50 metres freestyle at the 2008 Olympics, is also the subject of a fraud complaint since autumn 2025, involving a cryptocurrency platform. Me Benaiem maintains that his client is "more of a victim than anything else in this matter".
