Incidental seizure of weapons and narcotics in an Airbnb south of Ille-et-Vilaine

In April 2026, property owners who came to inspect their Airbnb accommodation in La Chapelle-de-Brain, a small village in southern Ille-et-Vilaine, made an unexpected discovery, reports Google News FR — Crime (fr).

Upon entering the premises, the couple immediately noticed a strong smell of cannabis. A search of the flat revealed substantial quantities of narcotics: cannabis, cocaine and methadone. The owners also uncovered packaging materials, camouflage equipment, numerous mobile phones, as well as two weapons — a sawn-off shotgun and a revolver, both without ammunition.

The former tenants are believed to have left their equipment behind, thinking they would be able to extend their stay by one additional night. Three defendants now face justice over these facts.
