Man dies in police chase at Margny-lès-Compiègne
A man died during the night of 21 to 22 August after the vehicle in which he was travelling overturned twice whilst fleeing the municipal police of Margny-lès-Compiègne.

According to Google News FR — Crime (fr), a man died during the night of Friday 21 to Saturday 22 August at Margny-lès-Compiègne, in the Oise, after a car carrying two individuals struck the ground twice during a police chase with the municipal police.
Shortly after midnight, agents of the municipal police posted in front of the church noticed two men leaving a grocery shop on Rue Octave-Butin. The driver having performed a handbrake start, the agents attempted to conduct a search. The two individuals fled.
A police chase ensued through the streets of the town, during which two collisions occurred between the two vehicles. Heading towards Bienville, at the exit from Margny-lès-Compiègne, the driver lost control. The car overturned twice. One of the two men was ejected through the windscreen and died. He is reported to have been named Paul.
The editorial team did, however, receive a call contesting certain elements: a woman presenting herself as a member of the family of the person placed in police custody asserts that it was the driver, and not the passenger, who died. She indicates having been in contact with police services, according to which video surveillance images confirm that the victim was indeed at the wheel.
The other man, born in 1986, was taken to hospital for examination before being placed in police custody. The two individuals are reported to be from the travelling community, settled in a camp on the side of Coudun and Bienville.
The criminal investigation police are reportedly in charge of the investigation. The municipal police vehicle was placed under seal.
