Marseille tribunal has judged a case of criminal association aimed at killing. Two defendants received sentences of 11 and 13 years, while three accomplices were sanctioned and one man was acquitted.

Marseille criminal court, specialised in major organised crime cases, has ruled on a procedure targeting a presumed criminal organisation that allegedly planned a murder on the island of Corsica. Six people have been sentenced and one has been acquitted, according to information from La Provence.
The principal defendant, Carlu-Andria Sisti, has been sentenced to thirteen years' imprisonment, two-thirds of which are non-remissible. His presumed lieutenant, Pierre-François Stary, received eleven years with the same proportion of mandatory custody. Neither of them was present at the time of the judgment; arrest warrants were therefore issued against them.
Three other individuals present at trial received sanctions ranging from a fine of 3,000 euros to a prison sentence of five years. The seventh defendant left the dock acquitted of all suspicion.
The investigation dates back to spring 2021. On 3 May of that year, Sisti and Stary had forced a road checkpoint in the Plaine orientale, in Upper Corsica. Law enforcement officers subsequently apprehended them with a smooth-bore shotgun of 12 calibre, a carbine fitted with a sound moderator and dark gloves. Investigators had been monitoring their activities for some time, as part of an investigation opened following a homicide that occurred on 19 October 2020 in the same area.
Sisti's defence lawyer, Maître Julien Pinelli, made it known that he would lodge an appeal before a higher court.
