An individual from Tours, stopped on 28 January in the Paris region, could not justify the origin of several gold jewellery items. The Indre-et-Loire national police have launched an appeal for witnesses.

The Indre-et-Loire national police are searching for the owners of several jewellery items and gold objects, as reported here.fr. These items were found on an individual from Tours, detained on 28 January during an identity check in the Paris region. The man was unable to justify the origin of all of these objects.
The case was referred to the Indre-et-Loire national police, who opened an investigation. On Thursday, 24 September 2026, the service published photographs of the seized jewellery and gold objects on its Facebook page, to enable potential victims to identify them.
Some of these objects have already been identified and returned to their owners. The others are held by the Tours prosecutor's office. They are accessible online via the national police Facebook album, but can also be viewed in person at the reception of the central police station.
Any person recognising one or more of these objects is invited to contact the property crimes unit by email at the following address: [email protected]. It is recommended to provide proof of ownership — receipt, filed complaint, photograph or insurance document.
