Investigating judges decided on 8 July that rapper Booba would face justice for online harassment targeting Magali Berdah, an influencer agent, according to information from franceinfo confirmed by AFP.
The charges span from May 2022 to June 2025. In addition to Elie Yaffa — the artist's real name — two other people have also been referred to trial: Grégory Zaoui, a well-known figure in carbon tax fraud, and a former employee of the Shauna Events agency. All three are being prosecuted for complicity. The hearing is scheduled for 25 March 2027 at the Paris criminal court.
Magali Berdah's lawyers responded to this decision. They affirmed their determination to obtain a conviction commensurate with the responsibility of the main defendant, whom they describe as the "pack leader" in this matter. According to them, without his involvement, this case would never have reached such a scale.
Since 2022, Booba has conducted a fierce campaign against influencers and their commercial methods, which he denounces as fraudulent. Magali Berdah, founder of Shauna Events and with nearly 1.8 million followers on Instagram, has become his primary target. The artist presents himself as a whistleblower, but several of his posts contain personal attacks. His online community regularly amplifies his remarks by mocking the people targeted.
