Burglary in Ajaccio: fifteen firearms stolen, including an AK47
Fifteen undeclared firearms and 4,000 euros in cash were stolen from a safe during a burglary in Ajaccio. An investigation for aggravated theft has been opened.

Fifteen undeclared firearms, including a rifle of AK47 type, were stolen during a burglary committed this weekend at the home of a private individual in Ajaccio, South Corsica, France Info reports from concordant sources on Monday, 18 May.
The theft took place between Friday 15 and Sunday 17 May in the afternoon, according to a source close to the case. Upon returning from the weekend, the owner discovered that his home had been broken into and that the safe had been emptied of its contents: fifteen firearms as well as 4,000 euros in cash.
The Public Prosecutor of Ajaccio, Nicolas Septe, contacted by France Info, confirms the burglary. He specifies that the haul comprises fourteen handguns and one long weapon of AK47 type. The home had no video surveillance system, according to the same source close to the case.
An investigation for "aggravated theft" has been opened and entrusted to the division of organised and specialised crime (DCOS) of the national police.
