On the evening of Tuesday 30 June, gunshots rang out outside a shop in Capesterre-Belle-Eau, Guadeloupe. The toll: two deaths and four wounded, including a six-year-old boy. These details were provided by the magistrate of the Pointe-à-Pitre prosecution in a written statement released on Thursday 2 July in the late afternoon, according to RCI FM.
According to initial findings, more than a dozen projectiles were fired at the group present at the scene. The two people who did not survive are women aged 31 and 38. The mother of the wounded child is among the victims.
The four survivors are between six and seventy-one years old. No information has been provided regarding their current condition.
Post-mortem examinations of the two deceased will take place on Thursday and Friday. These will help clarify the exact causes of their deaths.
The facts are classified as murders and attempted murders. The case is being followed by the criminal brigade of the local national police, supported by investigators from the judicial police and officers from the Pointe-à-Pitre police station.
The Basse-Terre prosecution, which is geographically competent, initially directed the first steps before handing the file on Wednesday morning to the criminal division of Pointe-à-Pitre.
