More than five years after the disappearance of Delphine Aussaguel, her husband Cédric Jubillar has sent written confessions to one of his lawyers, breaking with years of denials.

Cédric Jubillar has finally admitted his responsibility in the death of his wife Delphine Aussaguel, who disappeared in late 2020. The convicted man handed to his lawyer Pierre Debuisson a written document in which he acknowledges the facts, according to franceinfo.
His defence lawyer confirmed these confessions to the newspaper La Dépêche du Midi, which had access to the letter. "He handed me a detailed document," he stated on Monday 6 July. According to his account, a relationship of trust developed with Jubillar over the past few months. The man reportedly experienced a sense of relief in confessing his role, after having lived through years of tension with investigators and intense media exposure.
This confession represents a spectacular reversal. From the start of the case, the painter-plasterer had maintained his innocence. In his letter, he does not yet provide all the details of the tragedy, but says he is willing to provide additional information, particularly regarding the location of his wife's remains.
Jubillar had received a 30-year prison sentence at his first-instance trial last October. He subsequently changed his defence team to prepare for his second-instance hearing, scheduled for September.
