Five people have been arrested following an attempted burglary at the home of Olympique de Marseille footballer Benjamin Pavard in Bouches-du-Rhône. According to France Info, the Marseille prosecutor's office confirmed the facts on Thursday 21 May.
The suspects, aged 18 to 28, all reside in the Paris region. An investigation has been opened for "attempted burglary by scaling".
The incidents date back to Wednesday 20 May in the evening. Benjamin Pavard was absent from his home at the time of the facts, the prosecutor's office specified.
His wife was present and spotted five individuals in the garden, according to a source close to the investigation cited by France Info. She immediately contacted the authorities. The suspects fled before the police arrived.
